It is a specialized tool invented by Marty to aid in bringing the catch rope over the head and back to the handler all without having to get closer than arm’s length. The wand is 4 feet long, and very stiff giving the handler full control over the rope. When used with halter training rope/catch rope you can teach an animal that it is safe for you to approach. Using this method for catching is the center piece of CAMELIDynamics and is THE BEST WAY to teach frightened animals that it is safe to be around humans.

The Long Catching wand is purpose-designed for work with llamas and alpacas, and manufactured in the USA. It is a specialized tool invented by Marty to aid in bringing the catch rope over the animal’s head and back to the handler, all without having to get closer than arm’s length to the animal.
The Long Catching Wand is 4 feet long and very stiff, giving the handler full control over the rope. When used with Halter Training Rope/Long Catch Rope you can teach an animal that it is safe for you to approach. Using this method for catching is the centerpiece of CAMELIDynamics and is THE BEST WAY to teach frightened animals that it is safe to be around humans. The new wands have a white boot on the clip instead of black, but are otherwise the same.
