  • Llama Halter (Second Chance-buckles on animal's right side)

Llama Halter (Second Chance-buckles on animal’s right side)

    $25.00

As an additional training option we offer the Second Chance Halter: This halter buckles on the llama’s right side and allows you to have a second chance to correct previously learned escape and evasion behaviors. Typically llamas are haltered from the left. If you have an animal that is difficult to halter, he or she may have developed responses to being caught and haltered from the left side. It often helps to retrain these animals from the right using the principles of CAMELIDynamics.  Click here for detailed fitting instructions.

“I really like the Second Chance halters.  I use them for showing because the bottom buckle doesn’t tend to get caught on the ring as much as it does with the regular halters when leading from the left as is expected in the show ring.  I actually like to train my animals to lead from left or right equally well.  It stimulates them to use both sides of their brains.  Ditto being haltered from either side.”
