CAMELIDynamics Deep Dive

A year of advanced online learning with Marty McGee Bennett

CAMELIDynamics is much more than a collection of handling techniques. It is a way of understanding behavior, observing the animal in front of you and finding the least intrusive, most positive approach that will work.

People often complete a CAMELIDynamics clinic or online course and find that they want more time to practice, ask questions and understand how the principles apply to different animals and situations.

The CAMELIDynamics Deep Dive has been created for that next stage of learning.

What is the CAMELIDynamics Deep Dive?

The Deep Dive is a year-long, small-group online program for people who already have a foundation in CAMELIDynamics.

Participants meet online with me every two weeks. Between sessions, they complete practical exercises with their animals and film parts of their work. These videos are shared privately with the class and become an important part of our learning.

During our sessions, we look closely at what is working, where communication may be breaking down and how small changes in timing, balance, position or intention can make a significant difference.

This is not about performing perfectly for the camera. It is about learning to see more clearly. Participants learn from their own animals, from the experiences of others in the group and from the many different ways camelids respond.

The CAMELIDynamics Deep Dive combines practical work with online learning. Participants film exercises with their camelids, then review and discuss the videos with Marty and the group.

What will we explore?

The program will take a deeper look at the central principles and practical skills of CAMELIDynamics, including:

  • The science of behavior and learning
  • Catching, haltering and halter fit
  • Low-stress herd management and husbandry
  • Starting animals on a lead and developing balance and confidence
  • Event marker training and practical problem-solving
  • Observation, communication and teaching skills

The purpose is not simply to repeat techniques learned in an introductory course. We will examine why the techniques work, how to adapt them and how to recognize when a different approach is needed.

Who is the Deep Dive for?

The program is designed for people who have previously learned CAMELIDynamics through:

  • A CAMELIDynamics clinic
  • A CAMELIDynamics online course
  • Individual instruction with a CAMELIDynamics consultant

It may be particularly valuable for camelid owners, breeders, farm managers, educators and professionals who want to improve their practical skills and deepen their understanding of the method.

Participants will need regular access to llamas or alpacas, a safe place in which to work, reliable internet access and a phone or camera that can record video. They must also be comfortable sharing their course videos within the private learning group. The Deep Dive course is taught in English and is available to people in any country. Previous participants originated from the US, UK, Ireland, Latvia, Germany, Switzerland, and Australia.

The Deep Dive is an advanced program and should not be your first introduction to CAMELIDynamics.

Is this a teaching certification program?

The Deep Dive replaces the former CAMELIDynamics Consultancy and Virtual Coaching Program, but it is not an automatic pathway to teaching certification.

Completing the Deep Dive will not, by itself, confer the title of CAMELIDynamics Consultant or guarantee a listing on the CAMELIDynamics website.

People interested in teaching or sharing CAMELIDynamics will have opportunities to develop their observation, communication and teaching skills during the program. Any future recognition or teaching opportunities will be considered separately, based on experience, practical ability and readiness.

Register your interest

The next CAMELIDynamics Deep Dive is currently being planned. The starting date, session time and cost will be determined after expressions of interest have been reviewed. Time zones will also be considered when forming the group. The former program met every other week and ran for approximately 50 weeks, so this remains a substantial learning commitment rather than a short online course.

Completing the expression-of-interest form does not commit you to enrolling. It helps me learn about your previous experience, your goals and your availability.
