I recently had to treat an injury on my big, strong male. Something I had always dreaded. He has always been very reluctant to allow me to come near him. However, using the wand, catch rope and hadler helper along with all the techniques I learned at the Basics clinic recently, I have been able to accomplish what I once thought was impossible! My mom and daughter watched in amazement as Eros calmed down knowing there was an escape route and allowed us to treat him. I was even able to put on his light coat as the weather cooled down for a while after shearing. I also used a little TTouch during this time of applying medication to his wound. Each time I catch him with the catch rope he becomes a little calmer and more trusting with me. This method is changing my farm for the better:)
