Does somebody know about deep straw bedding in the barn:confused:
Here is what I learned so far:
    - There are theses written about it
    - it is not just putting straw on the barn floor
    - The wet straw should be turned - pigs will do that for you, but what if you don't have those available?
    - The wet straw will heat the barn.

Here is what I am doing:
    - I put straw on the barn floor, alpacas are pooping and peeing everywhere, I clean up some of the poop once a day, I put fresh straw on top of wet areas.
What else? What is everybody else doing in freezing temperatures. A while ago it was -17 F, last year we had -40 for a couple of days.
Any suggestions or knowledge out there?
