Is the Guild for YOU?

Is the Guild for YOU?

  • Have you had problems with an animal and wanted the counsel from someone that understands the way YOU want to do things?
  • Do you want to learn more about kind, efficient respectful and fun handling?
  • Do you want teach others the Camelidynamics approach?
  • Are you interested in using Camelidynamics to officially market your animals or services?
The Guild was formed to meet this growing need for education and resources for the camelid owner who wants to learn and apply the concepts and techniques of Camelidynamics. It provides support, educational opportunities and an on-line forum to keep members connected. The Guild also serves as the professional association for individuals who become Camelidynamics Handlers, Practitioners and Instructors.

Handler Seal

The Camelidynamics Handler Seal indicates that the individual has met minimum educational requirements (a minimum of one Basics Clinic and one Advanced Clinic) and has made a commitment to support the Guild Mission of treating the camelids in their care kindly, efficiently, safely and respectfully, and to work in such a way that the process is fun.

The Handler Seal is acknowledgement of this commitment.  Individuals holding the seal are encouraged to use the Seal to promote and advertise that they use and endorse the Camelidynamics philosophy and methods. Camelidynamics is a very well known program and brand.  The seal can be a very powerful marketing tool that will help to differentiate you from others who have not invested in this education.  This may be as a transporter, breeder, veterinarian, vet tech, shearer, ranch hand, or show handler.

Teaching  Program

Certification as a Camelidynamics Teacher takes considerable commitment.  The levels of certification within the teaching program are:  Apprentice Practitioner; Practitioner and Instructor.

Standards are high for Practitioners and Instructors, yet the benefits are wide-ranging.  The camelid business is growing and the demand for training is increasing.  Additionally, with many camelid owners working a job “off” the farm, the need to be able to complete even basic animal husbandry tasks efficiently and enjoyably, are even greater.  The income potential for Practitioners is good, yet will require an individual business plan, and as much (or more) skill in business and marketing, as in animal handling and Camelidynamics.

Membership Levels

Membership Levels

There are several different levels of participation in the Guild:

1. Associate Member: Associate membership is open to anyone interested in, and dedicated to training and handling camelids with respect and results.  There are no experience or education requirements for this level.

2.  Camelidynamics Handler: Handlers have fulfilled a program of education that includes:  clinic attendance, hands-on-practice and video evaluation.  After successful completion of the educational requirements and evaluation, the individual is certified and awarded the Camelidynamics Handler Seal.  A Handler continues their education, as outlined in this guide, to be sure they are aware of the latest innovations, refresh their skills and maintain their Handler Seal and status.

3.  Apprentice Practitioners: Apprentice Practitioners pursue continuing Camelidynamics education through a great deal of individual study and clinic attendance, as well as, practice teaching lessons to others at no cost. This continuing education and practice teaching allows the individual the time to more fully understand and practice the Camelidynamics techniques and methodologies, while learning the additional skills required for teaching others.

4.  Practitioners:  A Practitioner pursues an evaluated course of continuing education and is (or has been) involved in the daily care or management of camelids.  After successfully completing their apprenticeship, the individual is evaluated and certified as a Camelidynamics Practitioner.   The individual continues to pursue an approved course of continuing education to refresh, refine and maintain their certification.  Practitioners are certified to teach private, semi-private and group lessons* for up to 6-8 people. Lessons are focused on specific Camelidynamics skills and methods with a significant hands-on component and differ from workshops and clinics in both scope and organization.

5.  Instructors:   An Instructor has spent a number of years as a Camelidynamics Practitioner, continues to teach private and semi-private lessons, and is (or has been) involved in the daily care or management of camelids.  The Camelidynamics Instructor is certified to teach Camelidynamics one and two-day clinics, workshops up to 20 people, promotional demonstrations, and private and semi-private lessons and consult at competitive rates. Once evaluated and invited to become a Camelidynamics Instructor, the individual continues to pursue an approved course of continuing education to refresh, refine and maintain their certification.
