About the Camelidynamics Center

The Camelidynamics Center is nestled in the Tumalo area of Bend, Oregon. At 97701, Bend is the zip code with the highest numbers of camelids per capita. Marty McGee Bennett and Brad Bennett along with their dogs, cats, chickens and camelids also call this beautiful 10-acre property home. The Center features a magical irrigation canal, pond, majestic ponderosa pines and juniper trees, and magnificent views of the snow capped Cascades.
A large green pasture serves as the learning grounds. The pasture is separated into several training areas including a mock barn setup for herd management, laneway pens for beginning leading and an “opportunity” course, all under the watchful eye of the magnificent Tree of Wisdom.
The seminar space is a comfortable sunny classroom with a theater style Tv screen for video evaluations. a range of accommodations, restau- rants and ranches to visit complete the experience. The Camelidynamics Center is the base of operations for all Us advanced Clinics along with other courses and events.

Special Clinics

Each year in addition to the Camelidynamics Advanced Trainings we offer a couple of very special entry level learning opportunities at the Camelidynamics Training Center. Marty pairs her popular 2-day Basic clinic with other instructors. Past clinics have included Dr. Toni Cotton' neonatal clinic, Amanda VandenBosch's Fiber and Conformation clinic and a Shearing and Marketing Clinic with Marcus and Cathryn Whitman. Attending one of these events offers you a number of advantages:

Camelidynamics Training Center Special Offerings for 2010

June 19-22: Annual Basic Handling and Shearing Clinic. Basic Two Day Camelidynamics Handling Clinic followed Shearing and Fiber!
Instructors: Marty McGee Bennett, Tracy Annis and Liz McDannold
Each year Marty teams up with other industry experts around shearing time to offer the annual Basics Plus Shearing clinic. Begin with Marty's ever popular Basic Camelidynamics Clinic (this satisfies the pre-requisite for the Camelidynamics Advanced Training) The following day we will host our annual shearing and fiber clinic taught by Tracy Annis Camelidynamics Practitioner and Liz McDannold Camelidynamics Practitioner and Fiber Artist. Learn how to set up your facilities for efficient animal and fleece handling, shear a llama with hand shears, learn how to skirt a fleece and what to do with all that fluff! Get a taste of carding, spinning, a knitting machine, and felting. Our shearing fiber day will also feature our very own fiber maven Liz McDannold and her perennially popular needle felting class. August 26-29: 2nd Annual Education with a Destination. Crescent Moon Ranch, Flying Dutchman Alpacas and Camelidynamics team up for another amazing educational extravaganza and pen sale. The agenda and complete list of guest speakers is still top secret but it will be an astounding array of talent. Experience three different ranches in three locations, top speakers from around the world all in one of the most beautiful parts of the world-Central Oregon. The Advanced Clinic: 4-day

2010 Dates: June 26-30 and August 21-25
Pre-requisite: You must attend one Basics Clinic prior to Advanced Clinic.
Why Attend an Advanced Clinic?
- Have you attended a 2-day clinic and want to learn more?
- Did you read the Camelid Companion but need some hands-on coaching and feedback to refine your technique?
- Are you thinking about becoming a Practitioner?
- This is the clinic for people who want hone their skills both working with four-leggeds and teaching two-leggeds.
This is a challenging and exciting four days that will deepen your understanding of llama and alpaca behavior like never before. At the end, your handling skills will have improved markedly whether you've had llamas or alpacas for two months or twenty years.
The Advanced Clinic is also key to the curriculum for those studying to become Camelidynamics Practitioners. Camelidynamics Practitioners are dedicated individuals who will be certified to teach the Camelidynamics training system for llamas and alpacas. The Advanced Clinic was developed in response to the need for a more in-depth study of the laws and techniques of Camelidynamics.
