Why train chickens? It doesn't matter if you are a horseman, dog owner or camelid enthusiast Chicken Camp will hone your training and handling skills! Perfect your timing, increase hand eye coordination, develop keen criteria selection and gain precision. Chickens offer a unique perspective, you must leave preconceived notions at home. You can't force a hen to do anything so you must learn to communicate clearly and reinforce precisely! AND it is a hoot!
The course will cover:
• The principles of behavior and how ALL animals learn
• An introduction to developing strategies for changing animal behavior and preventing future unwanted behavior
• The basics of positive, effective and enriching training techniques that can be used with any species of animal
At the completion of the class the student should be able to:
• Understand how the universal principals of learning apply to their animals and themselves
• Understand the role animal caregivers have in the development of behaviors in their pets
• Observe more accurately both their animal's and their own behavior
• Develop strategies to set up the environment for success for their animal
