Practitioner: Alicia Anderson

A Practitioner pursues an evaluated course of continuing education and is (or has been)
involved in the daily care or management of camelids. After successfully completing their
apprenticeship, the individual is evaluated and certified as a Camelidynamics
Practitioner. The individual continues to pursue an approved course of continuing
education to refresh, refine and maintain their certification. Practitioners are certified to
teach private, semi-private and group lessons* for up to 6-8 people. Lessons are focused
on specific Camelidynamics skills and methods with a significant hands-on component
and differ from workshops and clinics in both scope and organization. (To more fully
understand the definition of Lesson vs. Clinic/Workshop – See Definitions in the Guild Guidelines -
Appendix.)

In January 1996 I ventured into the wonderful world of alpacas as my partner and I purchased our first breeding females. Within the first year-or-so of owning our alpacas we attended our first 2-day basics
course with Marty and for me it just all fell into place and made sense, I had already been loosely using some of the basic techniques and Marty's course gave me the confidence to know I was on the right track and have continued using the Camelidynamics techniques ever since. Over the past 15yrs+ of breeding and working with our own alpacas I have also been an active member of the Australian Alpaca Association and have been Chief Ring Steward over the years at many of our major shows such as the AAA National Show and Royal Agricultural shows as well as many smaller shows. Also as a member of the AAA Showing and Judging Committee I have been active in conducting Steward Courses all around Australia. And of course with my involvement in shows I have seen the consequences of alpacas with ill-fitting halters and their resulting "behavioural issues". Using the Camelidynamics methodology is providing me with the extension of being able to help these animals and their owners. I am very excited to be able to teach the virtues of Camelidynamics - it is inspiring!
