I had been raising alpacas for two years before attending my first Camelidynamics Clinic. I came home with a broadened understanding of these animals, and was relieved that I no longer had to struggle with them. As I gained confidence through the techniques, the interaction with them became more gentle, fun and just downright easier. It felt like I had a brand new herd. After attending my first advanced clinic, I realized that I didn't have a new herd, they had a new handler! That's when life really started to change for all of us. I have come to understand how much I enjoy working with camelids, and now, I do it full time as a ranch manager for two farms, as well as private lessons, clinics, and shearing. Yes - It's my favorite time of the year - Shearing season! I have been shearing for three years with a commitment to create an environment that is safe, efficient, kind and yes, even fun. Thanks to Marty and her commitment to Camelidynamics, I'm loving what I do, and doing what I love.
