TRAVEL TIPS: Easier to fly into Richmond. Less traffic, great in and out pattern. Usually more expensive, though.

THINGS TO BRING: Bring a jacket for evenings perhaps. We'll have the pool open if the weather is warm enough, so bring swim suits and towels.
LODGING (HOTELS, B&B’S): Holiday Inn Express - $89 night, 4755 James Madison Parkway, King George, VA 22485, 540-644-1500; Comfort Inn, US Route 301, Dahlgren, VA 22448, 540-663-3060, $85-90 night. (AARP members receive discounts) Both of these are 15 minutes from the farm. Days Inn, Colonial Beach, VA on the water. 804-224-0404. This hotel is 1/2 hr from the farm. Best Western, La Plata, MD. 301-870-2466, $119 plus tax; Comfort Suites, La Plata , MD 301-392-0065, lots of amenities at $109.99. Note: these MD hotels will cost you to cross the Virginia bridge at the rate of $3.00 a day. If it were me, I'd stay at the local VA hotels.
DRIVING DIRECTIONS: From the north: Take 301 south to the Nice Bridge crossing the Potomac. At the first light after crossing the bridge (toll is $3.00), turn right in front of the Sheetz, route 614. Continue on 614 to first road on right, Mathias Point Road, route 624. Turn right. Follow Mathias Point Road for about 2 miles to route 687, Woodstock Road. Turn left. Follow Woodstock to only gravel road, Camillo Lane, on your right. (There is a bus turn around where you make your right turn onto Camillo Lane.) Follow Camillo Lane to our fence and driveway.
From the south: Take 301 north to King George. At route 206, corner where WaWa, 7-11 and Century 21 all meet, turn left onto route 206. Take to top of hill. At the top of the hill, turn right onto route 624. Follow to Mathias Point Road (also route 624). Turn left. Follow Mathias Point Road for about 2 miles to route 687, Woodstock Road. Turn left. Follow Woodstock to only gravel road, Camillo Lane, on your right. (There is a bus turn around where you make your right turn onto Camillo Lane.) Follow Camillo Lane to our fence and driveway.
